The brand new HC50™ High Compression Power Spandex has the properties and material structure of a compressive power Spandex , yet its soft and supple feel provides a barely there sensation on the bike and surpasses the comfort of the previously utilized HC44™ thread count Spandex .

Our Most Advanced Short 

The waistband of the FR-C Short has been re-engineered to work in two parts. A light rolled elastic at the front waist hem provides a light but secure tension that wraps the front torso. The rear waist hem uses a supple silicone inner gripper that secures the top back of the short. The short also receives the same new HC50 power Spandex as the FR-C Bib Short and the new 190 E leg bands which utilize technology that expands for comfort and stability while staying in place perfectly. The FR-C designation ensures this Short as the most advanced bib-less short in the Giordana line.

• Muscle Support and Speed
  In re-engineering the Free we took a look at blood flow, providing just the right muscle support without constricting. The revolutionary Giro Air leg band provides more stretch and distributes the compression over a larger area. The body of the short uses 30% Spandex  for excellent return.
  
  We also looked at aerodynamics, optimizing boundary-layer airflow with the Giro Air leg band and the dimples on the side fabric. The wind tunnel says it saves 10 watts at 50 km/h, but you’ll probably want to go even faster because your aero advantage will only increase.

• Confort and Fit
  The best race short must be supremely comfortable. The new fabrics are all softer than the outgoing fabrics, especially the new softer surface fabric on the updated Progetto X2 Air seatpad. The innovative double V construction on the front keeps everything in place without compressing your stomach. And we’ve engineered a new Carré yoke that makes the straps lie perfectly flat.
